Does anyone have any thrust #'s for a DA60 on a Proflow can? If you do could you please post your prop, rpm, and thrust figures. I would really appreciate it.

Cheers,

Jason

Hey dave, I went looking for some high temp teflon tape today to wrap my header, and I couldn't find any! I did find, and buy, some exhurst and tailpipe tape though. Maybe your familiar with it, but would it work in place of high temp teflon?

That makes me think of the time my muffler had a hole in it and I told my wife "we need some muffler tapel". She didn't believe me that they made it . She thought it was in the same league as blinker fluid.

Chuck, that won't work very well. While your muffler on your car gets warm...a header on a 2 stroke engine gets HOT in comparison! That will either melt, or dry up and flake off. Or both. Teflon all the way. If you go to any hardware store with a plumbing section, the tape you need will be in the pipe aisle, or an aisle or two away from it.

Ahhhh, No. Not what you want to use. I'm afraid you are going to end up with a mess Chuck. Just get a roll of regular teflon tape from the hardware and use an entire roll on each header.

Hmmm ok. Ill look at the temp rating for it when I get home. I'm also weary of it because I'm covering the fllex portion of my header with it, and this tape needs to set. It has an epozy backing that's heat activated so you put it on then run up then engine and get it hot and it sets.
I tried lowes and two hardware storees. Asked for teflon tape, nada. Went looking in the tape and plumbing sections, nada

Well just hit up home depot. Nada lol. My dad has regular teflon tape, will that work even though its not "high temp"?

And btw I have some car exhaust repair tape for sale. I'm running a special on it just for y'all. $3.50.

You must have the dumbest HD and Lowes employees in the world. You are looking for "Teflon pipe thread tape". There are 100's of rolls of it at either store in the pipe section. The tape is in a plastic case the shape of the roll. The color of the case is white and yellow. You could use the blue and white colored case stuff, but it's a lower temp. You shouldn't have left either store empty handed. Poor customer service at both places! We should start a "HD or Lowes Lost A Customer Due To Poor Customer Service" thread.

PM me your address and I'll mail you a roll!

All they had was the white and blue low temp stuff. Would that work for a muffler?
not entirely sure what the temp rating on that is

That will work just fine. You might have to change it every few months depending on the amount you fly, but it will work. It's going to discolor a little after the first few uses, but don't worry about it, it's totally normal.
