That would be like giving up. I'm not gonna let Hitec off the hook that easy.

Again, go for it. It's way overdue time to get the pot issue solved.

Anxiously await the Futaba pot test.

My son was flying his PICA mustang a couple of weeks ago and had a problem. It seems he lost all the 8411 servos in the wing, flaps and ailerons, but still had solid control on the elevator and rudder which are 7955's. It took a few seconds to figure out how to fly it and get lined up on the runway and he made a perfect landing without the flaps and ailerons, thankful for the 20mph headwind. Found the battery took a crap midflight measured 3.8v after landing.
Needlees to say I really like Hitec servos as they never gave up even at that low of voltage.

alot more load on the aileron servo's than elevator. not surprised at all that the ailerons went to mush first. there was also someone here on giants that had batteries go dead in flight. he also lost ailerons first. oh they were hitec servo's also.

I am not sure but assume the 8411's went to lock out on low voltage, but the Hitecs did not. Can anyone explain if this was the case. Just wondering.

Joe air port HITEC servos are NOT the only programmable servos on the market the new futaba Sbus servos are programmable, not that you need programmable servos anyway these days it can be done with power expanders and the radio itself,

Its possible that the longer extension cables for the stab had more electricity left in them and the servos continued to run until the cables ran dry.

I bet this gets a commet of what the heck is he talking about

i will say, it can be nice to have a programable servo if you have limited radio functions. but like you said there is alot of stuff out there so you dont need it. like PE or matchboxes. i had my hitec servo's on a "Y" and programmed. it took some time to set up but seemed to work just fine. but a match box would be just as easy if you wanted a different brand servo.

at 3.8 volts it's a wonder he had any control at all I had a smilar problem last year running spektrum lost a cell resulted in a brownout and plane went off air JR servos on elevators stayed netural and the hitecs on ailerons and rudder went full lock and hitec on throttle full open lucky for me it was only a 40 size glow model had to dig the front end of the model and motor out of the ground.
