Hi Rick
Voids in the firewall are not necessarily normal but do occur. a bit of hysol or 30 min epoxy with milled fiber should solve this issue.
What did you do to the firewall with the CF? anyway the extra weight up front should help
I have heard from serveral customers that these planes are coming out tail heavy.
I have ordered a solid backplate spinner and a heavy prop washer to add about 8 oz to the nose.
Be sure to add about 30 g. of lead on each aileron to counter balance. this should reduce any chance of flutter. this is going to be included in the instruction manual.

Bob, Have you heard more feedback about the CG position ?
150mm from LE is mentioned and that is just before wingtube.
My Edge is now balanced to the center of the wingtube what is about 175mm from LE but I have not flyed it yet. No extra weight added and receiver batterys is at the CG

30g to aileron counter balances, where this came from? Have someone had flutering problems?

Due to the EVO aft carb mounting the upper L/H enging mount aera was a little iffey. Also the voids in the firewall made me a little leary. did a litthe weight and ballance durning the build needed weight up front anyway. The carbon pipes arrived today and will be going in this weekend should have her finished up in a couple of weeks if nothing elese pops up.

I have flown my 14 time now and I'm very satisfied,cg is now in back off the wing tube.
But must also say again that I like to fly a little behind heavy aircraft
I also have x-composite's edge 2.6 m planes, is similar to fly !
So the difference is not big on these two
Benefit for carf is you get more ailerons up and down.
I have the batteries on the wheel bracket ,and i am are very pleased with this plane

Kime,

The factory 2.6 meter Edge 540 that I flew had a perfect" neutral" CG. Roll it upside down and it just carries the line. It does not climb or descend.

This was at 150mm from the leading edge.

I personally would not want it anymore back than this. I have not tested it further back because I was happy with the "neutral" CG at 150mm.

ES55G is right pipe to MVVS 116 or DL111

Very Nice collor scheme, if i knew you could get this scheme i would have gotten it too DARN!!! i ordered the all white as i read one could only get it in the provided colorschemes.

well well im planning to do my own scheme annyways

and for the engine im putting in a DA170 that was laying around in my workshop ; )

im really quirius to see some flying videos of your Red Bulls

ill start a thread on the EDGE aswell once i finish my CARF YAK 54 with Moki 250 that is just 1-2 weeks away of being finalized.

NO aircraft is tail heavy unless your putting a 150 up front KEEP THE TAIL LIGHT!!!!
