That is normal. You are balancing the channels listed against the one that is not. For 4-aileron wing the LAIL1, RAIL1 and RAIL2 are being balanced in comparison to LAIL2.

I can see the wisdom of balancing the two aileron servos in the same wing half against each other. The Balance menu gives you the tools to do that even though the LAIL2 cannot be accessed directly. Simply balance the LAIL1 against LAIL2. At the same time you can also make sure the two right ailerons are balanced against each other.

What I am dubious about is the wisdom of trying to balance the right ailerons’ deflections against LAIL2. When I’m flying, I’m not looking down at the aileron stick marking to be sure the plane roll rate in both directions is the same for each click mark off of center. And I know my sense of feel isn’t that good.

Having gone through the balance procedure several times, I’ve found the same brand and model of servos are close to begin with. Balancing is meaningful to make certain that ganged servos are not fighting each other and it is useful for independent dual surfaces such as flaps or elevators to deflect the same.

Before I look too hard for it, I am not remembering for sure if the 11X comes with the piece to make the throttle ratchet? For some reason I was remembering a lil plastic pouch with the strap and an allen wrench. But may have been another radio.

My manual is out in the trailer and its pouring rain at the moment, so cant look there

Most 3D guys prefer the non ratcheting throttle. In fact, after flying one of my planes on a heli radio several have asked me to convert theirs to smooth throttle

Ya, but its a thing where I have been flying with a ratchet all my life, and seems to be the one thing that I just cant get used to on the 11X. So I thought I would make it have ratchet, and see if that makes me less nervous on the left stick with this radio. I can always take it back out if it doesnt work out.

Quick question.... I think that I read somewhere that if you do the software upgrades, you loose the ability to use the early DSM receivers with the 11X. Can somebody help me with this? The other question is if I do the upgrade how do I set up the Master Slave relationship with the DX6I ? Probably everybody but me already knows these answers....

If you do the firmware upgrades (103 is current) then it will work with the old DSM recievers.

If you do the hardware upgrade to DSMX then yes, you loose DSM. Thats only a few park flyer recievers though, it still works with all of the DSM2 recievers even with the DSMX upgrade.

You need firmware V103 then you just go into the trainer screen and tell it what functions you want to pass to the slave reciever. You also assign the trainer switch (LTrm or RTrm are your only choices) There's a bug with the trainer software on ealier firmware versions and I think those only work with another 11x.

Hi, I'm an addict, and I have more questions than answers. Now, first thanks to everybody for these contributions on this radio. I've had mine a while and this thread has been super. I've read it all and tried to compile a word file with the good stuff ... still needs a little cleaning up. I'll post it as an attachment if there is any interest ... quicker than reading the entire thread.... Is it true that if I upgrade the fireware that I will no longer be able to use my old Spektrum park flyer receivers (DSM) ? Next can somebody walk me through using the DX6I as a slave?

I tried doing some quick searches, but couldn't come up with anything good. Maybe one of you can answer this questions for me quickly. I want to tie the flaps and ailerons together on my decathlon for more roll rate performance, but still retain the traditional setup of having independent flaps and ailerons for takeoff and landings. Can this be done on the 11x and what functions do I use?
