how are the gp 61cc engines running for you I need real world feedback.

does it have the da mid range burble.
are they hard to start
what props are you running and what rpms are you getting
how do they run on the stock muffler
how are they holding up.
are they hard to tune in.
how is the vibration
any tips

not looking to compare them to other brands but would like real owners experience's
with this engine gp61

I have one, I love it.

Midrange burble. Not if tuned correctly. The DA midrange burble was an artifact of the timing being to far advanced.
Easy to start
On stock exhaust I am running a Falcon carbon 24x8. On the pipe... Falcon 24x9 and Vess 25a
Static rpm.. I can't remember. But on the stock exhaust and 24x8 prop, I can get it to unload to 8300 rpm in the air
Runs great on the stock exhaust. I do find it a bit noisier than other stock mufflers
Mine is running great. Serial number #2
It's easy to tune. But like the DA60. Don't lean top end to much.

I have two of them... Easy to start, great midrange.
Mine is swinging a 24 x 9 falcon. I agree with Bdegan the muffler is loud.
I am putting a proflow on it this week.

It yanks the 89 inch slick around like a rag doll..

I first had it in an Extreme Flight 91 Extra with a Plane Bender Smooth Pipe. Weighed 20 lbs and had no issues pulling it.
It then went into. Pilot RC Edge wih the stock muffler. The set up was so light, nothing could touch it in a verticle drag race.
Next week I am stuffing it into the new 3D Hobby 92 Edge. For this one I will be using an ES55 pipe

I am building a EF-91" Extra for a friend right now that will have "The Beast" set up...

Bdegan, could youbor trbrum post the data you collected on the gp61 on variou pipes. I agree the stock muffler is very loud so I am looking at the tuned pipe options.

What prop are you using? I am thinking about putting one of these in my PRC edge.

On the Pilot Edge I used a carbon Falcon 24x8. As long as you don't go crazy with batteries or adding unnecessary weight. The power to weight ratio is absolutely silly.
In all honesty, I was starting to feel like the GP61 was a Little to much for the Pilot Edge.
It was hard to hover. Only because it was so light. The throttle was was barely above idle to hover.
You could add weight to make it easier to hover. But then the rest of the flight characteristics go down the toilet

can you tell me if bolt pattern for the prop bolts match any other engine.?

did you make the light ply engine mount. do you have a pattern for it.?

what is the gas line running in to the back or the engine for.? I know dumb question
