Re: 60% BH EXTRA, HOW BIG IS TOO BIG ?

This may seem like a dumb question but I only ask because it seems like a logical one to me.

Are there any type of regulations with regards to a plane this size needing some sort of ground breaking / stopping system?. I know that most of you that live in the midwest fly off grass so it may not be needed. Out here in Cali most of the fields are paved which in turn lends itself to a longer roll on landing.. I'm mostly just thinking out loud here so I thought i would just ask the question..

I think it will land very slow, probably just like any 40%er.

Let us know how your 'experts' make out with the plane

The only regulation is that it has to be under 100 lbs and it has to be inspected by a certified AMA official, no other regulations apply, true this is an unchartered territory but when we being extra carefully and no effort will be spared to make it safer, this airplane will be treated with full respect not that I don't care about my other airplanes but this will a lot more attention from me safety wise, I have many flights on the 50% and I think I know what to expect from this One.
I will be flying the plane mostly off grass runways, the 50% doesn't take much more than a 40% to land and this One shouldn't be that much more, check the 50% landing at the end of this video.

Elie, that thing is gi-normus!!!! Can't wait to see it in person. I remember the first time I pulled up to the field and saw the 50% and was shocked!

Re: 60% BH EXTRA, HOW BIG IS TOO BIG ?

Here we go, today my pit beotches worked hard, I had to keep them in line sometimes by yelling and other times I had to do some slapping, at the end they came true but I believe there is room for improvement, I will keep pushing them, I accept nothing but perfection
My crew installed the motor and canisters, we used wooden dowells for standoffs, they will be replaced later with custom made Aluminum Ones.
