89 inch Slick and DA 60 question

I have an 89 inch Slick on order and a DA 60 sitting here waiting for it.

What size props are you guys running that are running this combo ??

A buddy of mine has a DA60 and was spinning a 24x12 with it. He said he would probably have to go up another prop size

Also, I have a tuned pipe coming as well. What prop would I look at then

Cheers and Thanks

What was he flying with the 24x12, can't imagine that would be any good for 3D flying. DA recommends a 24x10 as the strongest. My 60 has been flown mostly with a Xoar 24x8 and I am switching to a Vess Stealth 24B. Great pull for 3D.

I have not flown my 89" Slick yet. It has a DLE 55 and I'm looking for a DA 60 to put on it. Please let me know if someone is selling a good one. The DLE don't look like the power I need. davhuffman@ gmail.com

Falcon carbon 24x10 is a great prop for the DA-60 on a standard muffler. That prop on a 60 bolted to an 89" Slick is pure awesome.

Fly it!!!!!! the DLE55 is a fab motor, has plenty of power and will fly the Slick proper

DA60 is awesome, but try the 55 you won't be disappointed. I have both the 60 and 55, 55 is on a H9 Carden Yak 19 ibs and still flies it silly!!

Yes. The DLE-55 will haul it around pretty good. Don't ground it for not having a 60. The 55 has plenty power for this airframe.

Hard to tell at night but a 55 is plenty on a slick.

Keep the Slick as light as possible. We are using Falcon 24x8 at 3600 ft on the 60. Falcoln prop seem like a best all around prop. 55 just doesnt work that well at our elevation. My first gas plane was a Gold wing. Dle55 had plenty of power being it onlt weighed 15lbs. Slicks alot bigger and better plane...

What about with the JTEC pitts? Any change in prop suggestion on the DA60?

Moose,
I had the Jtec large pitts muffler and was running a Falcon 24x9 or Xoar laminated 24x8. Either was ok but the Falcon was my all around favorite. Never tried a 24x10 as the 29x9 was nice and snappy and great for 3d and pattern type flying. I've since gone with a stock type muffler and run the 29x9. 69xx rpm if I remember right and I fly right around 300 feet asl.
