I will be doing one from the second batch, so it will be few month before I begin, but I will be watching, learning and asking questions for now.

Well, the container is here in Tucson! I do not have the planes yet but hopefully they will be delivered tomorrow. I will also be building the Extra 260 right alone with the rest of the customers. I will take and post pictures along with my progress. I will be installing caniasters in this plane as I really like how the Weeks sounds with the canisters in that.

Hey, Hey! You are finally home! You missed a great fly-in at the Hill Elie! You would have loved it! We all were amazed how good it was! I got to fly more times then I have ever on a weekend at the Hill! It was well organized. You would have loved it!

Thanks for the kind words Snap, I am finishing a flame scheme Edge for a customer and should be starting the new 260 in late July. I have great hopes for this awesome plane as Bill has gone all out on this baby. I think I have all of my ducks in a row, including new igns with extended plug leads this time and larger mufflers for the 275. The Edge I am finishing right now is going to be equipped with the canister system and I will let you guys know how the power band is for 3D flying here at sea level. I'll post assy pics as I get going on this. If anyone is thinking about one of these, I would get on the horn with Bill soon, as they will be going very quick once you all see these in action. Mine is sitting in So-Cal waiting for me to drive over and pick it up. Haven't even seen it yet, Very excited to get going on it. If anyone has one of the Bolley 36X14 props used that you would sell please PM me. Also If anyone is thinking about getting one of these but the build is warding you off because of time or the hassel, Let me know as I build for a living and would be happy to do one for you.

They have already started shipping. They are very complete, in terms of assembly, but the shear size warrants several hours of just "making sure it's right" as you assemble them, I am sure. It'll probably be a while before we see any pics.

Yeah that might be just a little too big for my standards.

Update time!

I have spent a few hours unpacking my new 50% Extra 260. This airplane looks great! I can't wait to get it flying ASAP! A lot of changes have been made to this design over the Edge and I am sure it will be a fantastic flyer! Some of the changes include the pre-drilled firewall for the 3W-275 engine, pre-molded air deflector on the bottom of the cowling and some redesign work on formers to reduce additional weight. The CG on this plane looks to be perfect but only a flying aircraft will verify this, the wing was moved further forward to increase its 3D capabilities and also allow your radio equipment to be placed in the 'normal' places.

The new Extra 260 is set up to run standard size servos or the larger size Futaba servos. I recommend a minimum of 250 ounce tourque per servo on the flight control surfaces. The new 300+ ounce servos new on the market are perfect for this plane. My plane will have canisters mounted inside to help with the noise footprint. Mounting canister should be very easy as there is a canister area already built into the fuselage. Enough talking, judge for yourself, here are the pictures:
