I got the kit through Perth RC who are now the Aussie distributors for Bil Hemple Models.. Brian was awesome.. and very helpfull.. have to check with Perth RC for current pricing + shipping..

Love the shape o the Hemple Decathlon.. much more true to scale than the other ARF Decathlons around at the moment... cant wait to get this bad boy on the building bench... hoping it will be delivered today!!

Had a really good weekends worth of building... got all the control surface servos mounted, wired and hidden... mounted the EQ6 Turbo.. Mounted the engine and started putting together the control horns...

Really liking this kit.. there are a few little blemishes that make you raise an eyebrow once or twice.. but in general the fit and finish is pretty darn good!

One of the things that peeve me when building is having heaps of excess servo extension cabling laying around inside the fues.. so this time round I decided to go with full custom extension leads with the Booma RC do it yourself kit... I am really happy with the results... took a few test plugs (not used in the aircraft) to get the technique down pat.. but after that they were a breaze.... and look good too!! each cable is optimized with the minimum length required and no mess... HAPPY DAYS!!

The motor needs re-jigging... set it out as per the cross hairs on the fire wall and it looks like it will need to go up and right about 3mm each way to match the cowl...... thats a headache for another day... heh heh heh heh

I am also glad I bought another bottle of CA.. going a bit overboard with wicking joints... but hoping that will save me a few headaches later!
