are you getting the plane into a controlled stall prior the roller? Or starting from a harrier?

Keep practicing and dont bring it under 100 feet until you can do it for ever with no lose of altitude mistakes are ok if they dont lead to lose of altitude or orientation. Either of those 2 mistakes will crash a plane in a low rolling harrier. It took me at least 6 months to a year before i could keep it low and even then i shouldn't have; it was too soon. Its best to get it down pat and stay high than to rush to get low and crash planes. Its not even just the money for the plane. Losing flight time building another plane will set you back longer duo to lack of practice.

I have finally started to make some progress with this on the simulator. I used the chase view and didn't really care where the airport was. After I got to where I could sort of do one without gaining a bunch of altitude on the third corner I switched to using the binocular gadget. I still don't have it down like I want, but I think I'm getting closer. Being able to watch it up close has really helped me.

I've never tried a rolling harrier... I do rolling circles, but it would be REALLY hard to call them circles. Lots of altitude changes, and that last 1/4 of the circle still bites me sometimes.

I just dropped a hint to the wife for Realflight 7.5 with the wireless dongle and the Anylink2 adapter for my transmitter....hopefully I'll dedicate some time to practice instead of just flying around in circles.

I need to see some progress on the sims or it becomes very boring.

I remember when I first started flying with the sims years ago... I couldn't even find the landing strip to land after I took off. So, I guess if you look at it from that perspective, I've come a long way on the sim. But I agree, it gets boring pretty quickly.

Once you get the roller down to where you are comfortable it really helps you get out of trouble in my humble opinion and then it seems your confidence can get to the next level to try and push yourself to try other manuvers especially ones that involve your rudder for cool slow turnarounds etc.

I have only been doing rolling circles for a few months now and feel fairly comfortable but I'm using some special mixes in the radio to assist and not using any rudder yet. I can however keep going in as many circles as I want continuously and am getting fairly good at controlling altitude. Still never even tried to bring it down to Harrier speed yet. I'll have to work in the rudder comfortably first but that is the stage I'm in now.

Hi Muttdog, out of curiosity what are the special mixes you have in your radio?
