If the radio was purchased recently and has firmware V1.08(1) in the transmitter then most likely it is. I would suggest he call us so we can troubleshoot further.

thanks. He is sending the radio in. The other A9 flyer says his does it also but he was told the last session did not save correctly when last shut off and that is why the blank screen on boot up. Your description sounds more reasonable.

Truck,I have been using the Tech Aero ultra Ibec from day one with my A9 (2.5 Years now) with absolutely no problems, before or after the updates.Hitec announced it wasn't the opti kills or ibec's causing the problems, but rf.The Tech Aero ibec also has an rf filter.

Guys....been out of it for a while here, but I'm not really into running my ignition off the same packs that run my reciever, so I don't really want to go with the Tech Aero ultra Ibec mentioned above. What other products would you recommend for a ignition kill? I've got a Rcexl Opto Kill Switch, V 2.0. Do I run a risk with this model of kill switch or should I be ok?

Thanks,

Scott

I am running the rcxl, never had a problem at all.
Now at the beginning of the problems some of us had with the A9 they thought the kill was the problem then i lost a plane, but then they said that was not the problem so i put it back in and have not had any problems with it at all, the problem was in the module and radio itself not the opto kill.

I have used both RCXL and Smart-Fly since I got my A9. Never took them out of my airframes, never had a hint of a glitch.

I have observed a flyer at my home field that has been using the Tech-Aero/Smart-Fly IBEC for about a year with no issues. I have used single battery systems for about a year and a half without any issues so I've got two projects in process that will use no ignition battery by substituting an IBEC. The cost is no cheaper to use the IBEC as the cost ( for me ) is about the same as the replaced battery, switch and opti switch.

Hi guys, just a quick question about the HTS -SS. The connection to the sensor station called P - Is that for power only, in other words, I can tap power from any channel for that and cut the signal wire?
Thanks
