Hitec 5955 and FASST

I have a old spare good condition Hitec 5955 that I keep around just for testing purposes. Anyway, I just purchased a couple of Futaba 6008HS rx's and linked them to my 12z. When I plugged in my old trusty 5955 into the throttle channel it acts like it can't keep up.

If I move the stick slowly it responds perfectly, but the second I rapidly move the stick it just freezes and then when I stop moving the throttle stick it again regains movement. I tried it on the aileron channel and same problem.

I have the 6008HS in High Speed mode so I tried the regular 14ms Slow Mode. Same problem. I then grabbed a Futaba 9157 and it works perfectly.

Anyone else experience this with a Hitec 5955 and FASST?

No problem here, still have some 5955 in older planes with the same receiver as mentioned set in the fast mode and have not had any problems!

Hitec has an update for that servo to fix it. Give them a call.

FWIW - with regards to high speed mode, my experience and that of many others is that it makes no difference at all to airplanes. It was intended for hardcore stick banging 3D helis. It does not really make the servo faster either. What it does is allows the servo to achieve full holding torque faster, which for even 3D airplane flying is not something you will feel.

The mixmaster stick stirring of 3D heli smack flying is where it shows up, and even there many heli guys don't use it.

I have this combination and it works fine. Have you checked the battery and cables?
