Re: DL-30 / DLE-30
Do you guys have a seperate fill line to the tank, or do you use a tee in the supply line to the carb to fill? I use a Tee and put it as close to the carb as possible to fill the tank. That way fuel is in the line and very close to the carb before trying to start. Then the carb doesn't have to draw fuel all the way from the tank....I don't have the issues you guys are having. Flip about 5 times with Choke on....Pop....flip 2-3 more times and she's purrin' like a kitten.

A LITTLE GURGLE UP TO 1/4-1/3 THROTTLE IS NORMAL AND NATURAL, TUNING IT OUT WILL ONLY MAKE IT SUFFER AT IDLE AND OR TRANSITION. IF IT'S RUNNING GOOD AND THE PLUG LOOKS GOOD, LEAVE IT ALONE. |

Re: DL-30 / DLE-30
Well I got the new rear-intake kit from Jody at Valley view. Very qucik service! Thanks. I took the DLE30 apart first taking cyl off to check ring break-in. Boy that ring must be hard!! Anyway I put the engine cases back together and installed the cyl . I let the yamabond cure over nite. Then installed rear carb ect. The engine has a nice bouncy feel to it when hand crank fast. I placed the engine back on test stand & ran it. I got it to run & fine tuned it a little. It starts with one flip when warm...like 10 out of 10 times like before. It does have a real smooth transition...better than before, I would say. I did have to take the pumping section apart and adjust the little one way flappers to close better. One had a slight curl away from where it seats. Did that all before it started....because it did not want to pull fuel good?? Anyway she is humming real nice. Best Regards Capt,n

Soldering the choke plate hole would be the easiest though. |

Re: DL-30 / DLE-30
LMAO. Nice Pat.
Tank. Solder it up and see if it works for ya. If mine didn't start I'd have chucked it long ago. Life is too short. I did put it on a plane where it is accessible so I could get to know it. For me this thing is great bang for the buck and decent power to weight for small gas. But no motor is perfect. Mike |

Re: DL-30 / DLE-30
Roger that, I will have him pull the motor and I will solder it up for him and see if that takes care of it. Thanks for the offer Jody. As long as I dont let him do it, there wont be a mess to clean up! LOL!

Re: DL-30 / DLE-30
Read the post about my DLE30. Check the one way flappers to see if one has a slight curl away from where it is supposed to seat. On my rear carb set-up in my airplane...I may fix a hex head from a hex bolt to the choke shaft...then I can work the choke with a "T" handle tool I have. I could do the Hi & Low needles the same way. Just a Idea. Best Regards Capt,n
