Question
Futaba 14mz screen

Hey guys,
Does Futaba still service the 14mz in regards to the screen not being easy to use? Mine is very hard to use and was wondering if I should send it in. Thanks

Steven

Hi,
According to this post Futaba service in US will service discontinued Futaba radios for at least 5 years so just contact Futaba service center and they should be able to install a new LCD screen.

The screen on my 14MZ is also a little hard to press on but I have also a screenprotector. I do not know f I will replace my LCD screen or buy a new radio later but 14MZ has all features I need except telemetry but I can add an external Futaba/Robbe Telemetrybox if I want and a FASSTest compatibe receiver for FASST radios - all avaliable from Robbe in Germany.

/Bo

I cracked my screen in Dec. and sent the radio back to Futaba. It took about a 10 day turn around and they replaced the screen, tuned the radio and updated the software for 210.00

I cracked my old 14MZ screen last summer and sent it in. They replaced it with the new one which is much more sensitive and works much better. If yours was an old screen that required too much pressure you should be very happy with the replacement.

Just wondering how you guys are getting cracked screens. I am always so worried about my screen. Is it wear and tear, old age or is it accidents? Just want to learn what not to do.

In my case I can only plead stupidity and pressing too hard with a finger. The older 14MZ's did not have sensitive touch screens and lots of people accidentally cracked screens by pushing just a little too hard. The new screens are much better, you just touch them not push !
