Yeah, I have heard the same. My wife has a great job where we are and makes significantly more than me...so if I lost my job we would stick around here for a bit. I think I might explore stay at home dad life (of course that would seriously curtail the r/c airplane budget) or find something else to do.

Honestly, I miss instructing...it was a good time. So maybe I would go back to that. Lots of options...and we all have different parameters for a job/career.
