What about powering them with lipos? Have the bugs been worked out?

Re: New hitec 7950TH

For now, I've yet to see a stream of report from users on using it unregulated. If you use smart-fly and regulate it to 6.5V, then IMHO it shouldn't be a problem at all.

FWIW, I have flown them plenty on 2S unregulated. They do jitter on the ground, but for the most part, it's not much an issue in the air (unless you're flying IMAC). It just cause the wing to ever so slightly bounce back and forth (less than two degrees). It's not enough to cause any jeopardy to those of us flying 3D, but those flying IMAC will feel as if the plane is buffetted by the wind a bit.

bonedoc

If they are jittering that much I would be afraid to keep flying and run the risk of one going to full deflection and staying there.Don't know if it's possible but something to think about.Have you tried useing a123's in the place of lipo's for a few flight's.

They never jitter that much, and only for a small fraction of a second. I've tried A123 on the ground, but never in flight.

In talking to Mike, he said that the car guys don't have these "issues", and maybe it has something with the Spektrum receiver and long leads.

At any rate, I'm getting my Aurora 9, and I'll post some results with the optima receivers.

I like hitec servos a lot but I would be perty peeved if I bought almost a $ 1000.00 worth of servos for a 40% plane and they shook at all. Im really not sure if there is even an issue, you can be 100% sure a person experiencing an issue actually has the plane set up correctly. No to poo on anyones set up but it is a valid point.

I just installed these on the ailerons of my Comp Arf 3.0M Extra 260 IMAC plane. They are set up in tandem with 2 per aileron and are noticeably stronger with much better centering than 8711's. Very happy so far.

Re: New hitec 7950TH

I had some jittering issues like bonedoc described on the outboard ail servos on my new dalton. When I was making the extentions I ran out of the twisted wire from Airwild and used some flat HD wire from the LHS. After getting the twitching, I pulled the flat wires out and twisted them and also added a RF choke from radio shack out by the servos. No more twitching.

I think its a ferrite ring, you wrap the wire through it and it cancel's out electromagnetic interference generated in wires.

I can't see how this is possible. I have no gittering on 4 of the 7950's and I am on Spektrum 2.4. Start a poll ,could be interesting!

It seems that if there is an issue it may be related to powersafe receiver line. Most of those w/ issues seem to have that set up.
