Would 1/2 inch make that much difference on the header length? I never invested the time to work with varying header lengths, or in this case, coupler lengths. I've heard of people working in small increments to find the right length for their setup, but I never really went through the exercise.

with this, you will never lose a screw.

I heat the teflon coupler, then slide it on and install the clamps. No leaks or issues for 4 years.
