Re: FG EXCLUSIVE: PRO FLOW 3-D CANNISTERS

Thanks guys. Yes they are exactly 10.5" from the exhaust flange to the end of the header. I have them all installed now. I like the screw idea Dave. I will get some tapered head machine screws and do that. I recall a friend of mine having problems with his pipe blowing out of the coupler. I can drill them in the plane without removing them. I'll just slide the clamp back a bit, drill and countersink the holes. Then put in the screws and slide the clamps back. I had to extend the tips 1.25" to clear the bottom of the fuselage.

Always like to see a clean install! Nice work. If you get a chance, give me a call tomorrow.

Thanks, Dave

Doug (Super08),
Looks good, if you need a hand you have my number.

I use solder to do the measurements, as it is plyable and stays in position. Either cut it to length or just put a bend in at the correct length. Start with one end at the flange, then following along the center of the pipe (looking at the side of the header) around the bend and towards the outlet. Mark the header when you end up at the length you want and cut.

Some times the clamp it all that is needed to keep it all together, more so if the pipe ends have been knurled. If not, follow the suggestion that Dave posted about the screw and then putting the clamp over top.

I am going to go with Dave's screw under the clamp idea. It is fool proof.

It would be really cool if Dave could provide a header/can package for both the DA's and the DLE's, even if they had to be special ordered.

Well the Rear Exit models are done! I have installed the Front Exit Models on my test plane tonight and I plan to test all day tomorrow. If all goes well I should have Canisters by next week. Stay Tuned.............

Is there a nutshell version of the advantages of a rear versus a front dump canister and vise versa?

On some airplanes the dedicated area for the Canisters is too high in the fuse for the Rear exit models. Also landing gear location is a factor as well. Preformance is the same with either front or rear.
