Re: SHOW US YOUR WARPLANES!!!!!!!!!!

Here is some footage of big and fast War Bird - the tires actually screech a bit on landing although hard to tell in the video.

Attached pictures show the right main tire slightly smoking on landing

Here they are. I want to get a couple of more but until work picks up again these will have to do.

H-9 P-51 .60 size

And the Bud Nosen P-51. 102 inch wing span and I haven't decided on an engine yet.

F-82 Twin Mustang kitbashed from two .60 size Top Flight P-51 kits. Not really scale as the real F-82 was quite different from the P-51 fuselages this plane was based on. Has a 90" wingspan, it weighs 18 lbs with two Zenoah G20's. It is based on the real "Betty Jo" displayed in the USAF museum in Dayton Ohio. Building is a great way to pass the long cold winters in Canada! Can't wait until spring!

I built my second Giant B26. Here is a shot of her coming in for a landing with retracts down and landing lights on. Taken by a spectator at a Big Bird event at our club last month.

Trumpetman, beautiful F-82. Have you flown her yet? Where is your cg? I have done the same thing with my 2 P-51s. I stretched the fuse and took out the leading edge extension. I still think I might go with a extebded vert stab...but we will see

The pilot of "Betty Jo" , Col. Thacker, is 91 and still active in the RC world. He is a great guy to talk to.

Re: SHOW US YOUR WARPLANES!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for your comments on my squint scale F-82. I have just finished building it and I still need to do all of the many finishing details and programming! I will fly it this spring but as I write this it is snowing (again) and I don't expect the field to be clear until April. I'm in Calgary, Alberta.

Nice job Ram-Bro! I took a look at doing it properly (like you have) but I decided that since this was going to be my first twin I would just keep it simple. In terms of CG, I plan on flying it at the recommended CG for the Top-flight P-51. Any comments from you guys on this approach? p.s. looks like you have a few planes to finish as well

Rolling Thunder: thanks for the info on Col. Thacker. I knew that he used to be involved in the RC world but it is great to hear that he is still around and enjoying life! I believe that he and "Betty Jo" still hold the record for longest non-stop flight by a piston engine fighter - New York to Hawaii!
