Egan, I dropped in here to see if Hitec has solved the problem with the A9 but it does not sound like it has got a solution. as Blackbeer I have lost a bunch of money on the A9 and after 45 years in the game I finally gave up and sold all the A9's, I am the guy that rede refers to and all I can say to skywork is have a good time and when you loose a bunch of money don't come crying here. I stuck with the A9 because I think the programming is the best in the business but if you can not depend on the link then you move on. I believe the A9 problem is in the module but that is for someone else to figure out. I have moved on to the JR11X-DSMX a few months ago and as rede said I have not lost a plane and am back enjoying RC again. After my last Carden loss I quit IMAC( I lost 2 Cardens and a AMR 12' stick with a DA-170---all fly-aways with dual rxs etc on setup). I will return to IMAC next year now that I have radio I have confidence in. I fly several times a week and have put in my time learning the game. Guy's like skywork that make broad statements should really think about what they write before they insert their foot in their mouuth. Since the A9 problem has not been fixed you will not see me back on this thread----when you get the solution pm me. |

If it was working well (as mine always has) you certainly wouldn't be selling it, because it is the best 9 channel radio out there. Greg |

I was in the same situation a couple of weeks ago. Been flying the A9 for over a year now with zero problems but I never updated to some of the newer versions because of the same fear. After this last update release it was too improved to pass up with the faster reboot times and increase in range testing. I upgraded all my equipment and I've put a dozen or so flights on so far with zero problems. I did have to reverse my Optic kill switch channel to keep the direction the same on the toggle switch. Range test was 400' and still going with DA100 running. Just go over all your programming and make sure nothing got changed and you should be good to go.

I know you likely wont read this, but read back a few pages as I do believe the range issues/glitching was fixed by Hitec's latest RX update a few weeks ago. I did a bit of testing on it, and even on a new module (which didn't help originally on the previous RX firmware), and my range checks have increased DRAMATICALLY. No issues in flight whatsoever that i used to be able to produce on a whim. Because it's winter here now, I can't really test my big birds, but I'll continue to fly the small stuff and keep people posted. Cheers! Egan |

yep this is true wallys A-9 has had no issues what so ever. its like some are trash and others are good to go. bad thing is, when you buy one you dont know which one you are buying but when its bad it gets ugly real fast. like a real fat chick on a moped |
