Access panel charging issue

Hi Robert,

I have a EQ10 with Super Reg and your Access panel with the pin and flag and 2 ports for charging. I cannot charge thru the access panel. My charger, a HiTec Multi Charger X4 says there is no connection. I have the access panel connected to the Super Reg charging ports, with the positive side both oriented to the positive side of the Deans. When I tried to go thru the EQ10 charging ports the charger said low voltage and wouldn't let me charge (makes sense because it was trying to go thru the regulator). Any help would be appreciated.
I am using LIFE batteries.

Tim

i don't know i could be wrong

but i think you should plug straight into the Dean's style connect on the battery and the balance port on the battery themselves ?

also make sure you toggle in ( programs ) menu of that hitec charger to select the correct battery chemstry i asume your runing two cell Lion's , so make sure it said li-on on it and not li-po then go back to to the charging menu and try again

Charging issue

I could go that way but I want to charge from the outside of the plane. That's why I bought the access panel from Smart Fly.

Thanks for the reply.

Hi Tim.
OK, could be one of two things. First, can you read the voltage through each port on a DVM or load meter? We had a couple units pass test for some reason with one charge port shorted so if you cannot read a voltage through both ports this could be the problem or part of the problem.

Second, you cannot charge both the batteries at once. You may know this already, you may be familiar with the "common ground" issue. The charger will do strange things if you try this.

Let me know about reading the batteries and we can continue from there.

Robert,

The regulator is delivering 5.0V to the main board as measured through the deans. I cannot see any voltage through the charge ports on the regulator board. I do not see voltage out of the charge ports on the access panel. All readings with the system on (pin flag removed).

Tim

And yes, I know about charging one batt at a time. Thanks!

Hi Tim,
I hate to say this but I think you will have to send the panel and the SuperReg in so can check both out, fix anything if necessary and get them back to you ASAP. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Robert, Got back the Panel, reg and EQ10. All are working great and I can charge through the panel. Thank you for the quick attention and return of the parts. You're the DA of the power distribution world.
