Tips

Here is the link to the downloadable update.

Accessories/Upgrades

-Battery

The 11X comes with a standard 9.6V Nimh.

I have a Hyperion 2100 Mah LiFe that i'm going to install in the 11X. I've been using in the X9303 and it has worked great. One nice thing about the 11X is you can adjust the Low Voltage Alarm.

Re: JR 11X__Review__Tips and Info

Here is what JR has to say about the 11X.

Quote:
The JR 11X 2.4 comes with just about everything you would expect in a pro-class radio. Things like an extensive list of programming options, 30-model memory, a big backlit display and a eye-catching case worthy of its capabilities. The only thing it lacks is the one thing you won’t miss - a pro-class price tag.

The 11X is also surprisingly easy to use for a radio so advanced. Accessing functions and programming settings is simple with the intuitive roller button interface and big, backlit LCD screen. It also has an SD card slot for model storage, memory expansion and software updates.

Most importantly, it comes equipped with the security and convenience of Spektrum 2.4GHz DSM technology. With DSM you get more than the best 2.4 radio control technology flying. You also get more receiver choices designed for specific types of flying as well as access to the exciting world of Bind-N-Fly® aircraft.

Key Features

Ultra-smooth, dual bearing stick assemblies
Refined 2048 resolution
AutoAssign™ switch selection
Fastest-response processor, for an unprecedented connection with your model
All 11 channels function at identical speed and resolution
Backlit, high resolution, 4 gray-scale display for optimum clarity in all light conditions
Access all Function and System menus without turning the transmitter off
Easy access, back-mounted levers
RF status light; Blue—RF on, Red—RF off, Green—warning
SD card slot for expanded memory and future software updates
30-model memory expandable with SD Card slot
3+1 Digital/Analog Trims
One transmitter with programming and uncompromised control for all model types: planes, helis and sailplanes
Exclusive, proven JR rolling selector data input
Custom naming for flight modes
Differences Between the 11X and 12X

12 X has 12 channels, 11X has 11 channels. Duh!
12 X has metal case, 11X has plastic case.
12X has 50 model memories, 12X has 30 model memories. But 11X has SD Card, so in practice unlimited model memories.
12X quad ball bearing, 11X dual ball bearings on gymbols.
12X has 8 programable mixes, 11X has 5.
12X has 5 flight modes for airplanes, 11X has 3 for aerbatic models, and 5 for gliders and helicopters.
12X has externally adjustable spring tension for the sticks, 11X you have to open the case.
12X must turn off radio to get to system menu, 11X can go to any menu without turning off.
12X no "My List" Function, 11X has it, and it should be one of my favorite features.

- sliders have been moved to the back of the 11X (are on the side of the 12X)
- Assignable switches on the 11X
- 11X is prebalanced for a neckstrap
- Switch labels are removed from the face of the 11X for obvious reasons, though there are labels on the top (I think this adds to the "new look" that the 11X has).

I've got kind of a perfect storm arriving. Got the 11x, ef 110", da120.... All coming at about the same time. Can't wait to see how the servo matching is going to work. Gonna use a 922 powersafe instead of a smart fly....Gonna be cool.

Cool.

That will be an Awesome combo. I'll be switching my 110" Yak over from my X9303 to the 11X. Were fixing to switch one of my good friends 110" Yak from a DA-100L w/RE-2's to the DA-120 w/RE-2's. I may just have to get one myself.

Re: JR 11X__Review__Tips and Info

I've been very satisfied with my X9303, but there was a few things that I always wished it had.

Assignable switches, this is a major shortcoming of the 9303/9503, and my biggest complaint. It looks like the 11X has this covered.

SD card, I don't know why every radio doesn't have this these days. Again, 11X has it.

Properly balanced for the short 2.4 antena. 11X built from the ground up to balance properly.

The ability to perfectly match multi-servo surfaces. Since I fly a lot of precision this is a big one. I hope the 11X Balance function will allow me to do even better setups.

Timer on throttle stick. 11X does it, and it will be a great feature on my electrics.

Brighter screen, I do a lot of programming at the field in bright sunlight. 11X should make this much easier.

Built in Rudder to Aileron/Elevator mixes. These are the most common mixes for aerobatic models. I never understood why they are left out of most radios. With the 11X my other mixes will not be used up on these.

Externally adjustable stick spring tension. Oh, well the 11X doesn't have this, but since once I get them right I don't have to do it again, I guess I'll still have to open the case a few times.

It looks like the 11X almost has everything I had wished for, and a bunch more. I hope the feel in my hands is good. I have heard mine should be shipping tomorrow. I'm looking forward to seeing if it meets my expectations.

Thanks for weeding out all those second class "want to be" radios. Now, just a few words about my new super-duper Airtronics M11 2.4GHz FHSS-2. First off I must say how much I really love this radio...matter of fact, I made my wife sleep on the couch from now on. I just love how the steering wheel fits my hand and how smooth she feels...nice and round...It makes me feel like I am young once again...I never knew I could feel this way again... Ahh...hold on... I'll be back in a few minutes...I've gotten all worked up and need to spend a little time with my baby...see ya in about three minutes...

Charles, you think I can check out your 11x at the fort bend event, i am considering getting one soon. Also on the 9303 do you know how to set up a choke servo to work on the aux4 switch or flap switch. I want to set one up on my dalton , but I am using channel 5 for my optical kill on both my 922 rx's in the plane.
