Taildragger RC - Monster Scale Warbird and Civilian Series

Brand new from TDRC are seven massive warbirds and a pair of civilian aircraft. Get your scale fix!

Splash

Deviate From 3D with TDRC!

I've been eagerly anticipating this lineup of scale airframes ever since TDRC gave us some teasers of the Lavochkin LA-7 earlier in the year. Now with nine different giant-scale warbirds and civilian planes to chose from, and possibly more to come, it looks like we'll be seeing the beginning of a scale revolution in 2016!

I spoke with Chad Wilson of Taildragger RC about the idea behind his deviation from 3D with these scale monsters. Here's what he had to say:

"Taildragger rc was formed from components for your giant scale ride. For years I had a few attempts and always wanted a cool "one off" airplane line. Their are some awesome 3d/aerobatic options out there and while I'm an aerobatic guy at heart I also just love airplanes in general and military history. What gap we are trying to fill is the "niche" to have something unique, one of a kind, and something you would be proud to pull out of the trailer to break out of your normal routine. These warbirds are some of the largest and most unique giant scale warbird arfs on the market! I always felt that many warbird arfs were 20 years behind arf innovation while aerobatic arfs stay on the bleeding edge of innovation. What we introduce you here is a more convenient solution for the 21st century."

These are very nice looking planes. Many members wish to fly the one of the radial engines available. I suspect they may fit in your models but how can we know?

Maybe I missed it. If so, can you link me to the information or include the cowl dimensions for each model here or on your website? Thank you

Most all of the radial cowl aircraft aside the p47 can fit a moki/evo 160cc.
I will update the site with cowl deminsions. Thanks!

Wow!
The included retracts is a nice feature... outfitting planes this size with aftermarket retracts can cost an additional fortune.

I wonder if cockpit details are included.

Thanks! Yes including the gear takes the guesswork and expense out.
Most cockpit details are left to the user.

Dont forget today is the last day for black friday 10%off on aircraft!

Waiting for the 50cc airframes. These are just to large for me to transport right now. Things look good though.

Now I see that they have 2 piece fuselage....nice!

Most cerntantly. I also like the 2 piece fuse for maintenence and engine mounting. Makes it easier.

The seafury will just fit a dle111 or da100. The la7 and yak3u will easily fit a da100.
The p47 has the more narrow oval cowl but should fit a 70cc twin

Like the rest of the series 96" wingspan. Right now the scheme is to be "black 14" however black 14 was a g-6 gustav model which is a later war variant. I am complemating a winter eatern fromt scheme to match the soviet planes in the line up.. can you say "combat" lol
