I am thinking either an A&M Sachs 4.2 or a first generation Brison 4.2. It obviously uses the stock Sachs crank since it has the aft end sticking out of the case. I believe A&M made their own cranks which did not have the aft end exposed so I am leaning toward the Brison. Hope this helps....

Yep, looks like the A&M. Mount it and run it if it tries to shake itself apart then its the A&M, They had bad cranks in them. Had one years ago and went to go fly and it stripped the gears in my ailerons before ever leaving the ground. Damn near rekitted the airframe just running it.
You may be lucky and have an original Sachs crank,those run good.

Thanks you guys. I will mount it and run it and let you know if it is a shaker or not. If not, I would like to build something sporty for it, any idea? If it vibrates I will put it on the coffee table in our hangar as a conversation piece..

Brison never made an engine with a case, mount, and timing ring that looked that bad.

looks like it might be missing the throttle coupled advance....

walker machine made some of these too....

it is a shaker... not as bad as the 5.8... but it shakes!!
