Yep, he was commenting (complaining) about claims being "trumped up" and being "sensationalized".... but then he trumps up and sensationalizes the AMA's track record by 20 years. that's funny

The last thing you want to do is wage war with anyone with political power. He may be I'll informed but that creates an opportunity to create an ally. It might seem cool to talk about actions that constitute harassment but in fact it could be very counterproductive.

Im not at all ill informed.
i mis stated the age of the AMA by taking the word of something else i read. ill give you that. i should of validated the 100 years prior to saying it. either way. my bad And every single person that this effects has a "complaint" or two about this new process! and i wasn't trumping up anything the video was an ill informed senator stating un-true facts. The AMA at this point is also refuting the so called "Near miss incidents" as this is part of the FAA argument to further govern our group of modelers. and furthermore am not saying to wage war with anyone im saying you have the right to use your states government constructively to voice your opinion. and doing nothing can be just as counterproductive, you have the right to start petitions, file law suits, right your senator or any other state politicians to help inform them of our position. informing them of the facts only gives them better position to take a side in the matter. I get the AMA has lobbyist working for us and many attorneys handling this on our behalf. I personally am putting my faith in the AMA on this matter. |

The AMA has how many members? Multiply that by $5 (excluding the toy faction of modeling, they wont be registering anyway) That's' a considerable chunk of change. What exactly are we paying for?
Do we get a t-shirt? tickets to Disneyland? Some lubricant? This is political BS @ its finest. |

Make no mistake, this is about revenue. Some dickweed pencil-pusher saw an opportunity & jumped on it. " If these guys (GS modelers) can afford these planes, $5 is a drop in the bucket" type attitude. This "registration" process will only lighten our pockets whilst lining theirs. The Giant Scale community has absolutely nothing to gain, other than bringing a microscope over our hobby that we all love.

I seriously doubt "most" will sign up for free. An obvious attempt @ misdirection that hasn't proved very effective . I could use an extra million every three years, couldn't you? How do does the modeling community know that this fee will remain $5? I think your missing the point. BTW still can't figure out what were paying for, nobody seems to have an answer on that one.

Your condescending attitude is tiring.

That is absolutely going to make a difference in the FAA's income. They only have around $16,000,000,000 per year to play with, so that $310,000 per year works out to nearly 0.00194 percent!!! I wish I could develop a clever plan like that to net me a 0.00194% pay increase!! Cunning devils. Oh, but that was assuming that the $5 covers the entire cost and is all net income, but I'll bet it's not, but even if it were net having $16,000,310,000 instead of a mere $16,000,000,000 is REALLY going to make a difference!! So yeah, follow the money, right into the absurdity of that argument. |

the reason they want your money, is not that they want your money, it is so you use your credit card, and now they have both your information (address, DOB, etc...) and now your financial information. Also, they can assure that you are registering with your real name, if you use a credit card, it all has to match (information provided). They do not need that money, it is just a system to get you "registered" so now the government knows who we are.
Sounds kind of "conspiracy theory" type stuff, but it is what it is. |
