Witch DPMS do you have they offer 16", 20" and 24" barrels. Yes a military M4 does have a 14.5" barrel, but if you want to get civilian Mforgery carbine it will still have a 16" barrel that is the minimum legal length for a rifle barrel unless you obtain a permit from the ATF. You could put a shorter top end on your DPMS with a telescoping butt stock and end up with what you are looking for, unless you have a grand burning a hole in your pocket.

Mine have 14.5" barrels and full auto.......

lol thanks, we got to play with a couple M-4's, but those weren't mine. I only had an M-16 over there...

Nice M4A1, never been a fan of the forward vertical grip just never felt comfortable to me and looks a bit too mall ninja for my tastes.

chris, my mate has a m4... i have done well over 500 rounds from it, its a grate gun. unfortueatly over here we are not alowd them on semi auto but its so quick and easy to load that it dont realy matter

how are you not allowed them on semi-auto? Are you thinking of full-auto?

I have a couple .223's (5.56 for you), effective range is one thing, sub MOA precision is another. I dont know what the military standards are for open sight shooting at that kind of range, how large is the target area?

no... over here we are only alowed semie auto on .22 cal ... but if your in the army you can shoot anyting. all so if your not in the army you must have a lisense to shoot (thats why i dont go any more because i was useing my mates guns but they changed the rules )
