Brakes work on the yak! Just burned a tank worth of touch and go's!

Ended up TIG welding the hubs onto the rotors so it cooked off the cerakote. So, I'll pull them apart again, reblast, and recoat the rotors. This helped at first as it made the brakes less "grabby".

Hell on tires!

15 Days, doo daa, doo, daa

Mounted the firewall/engine up on the EL Bandito. I may just stick the Moki from the SD80 on it. Same factory power output as a 50cc engine with well over a lb less weight. The SD80 is cool and all but it doesn't fly worth a chit. Very cranky airplane. I'm tired of it. It's been tore down and stuffed in a box.

SD80: 12-14lb airplane dry weight
ElBandito: 13.5 to 15lbs dry weight with a 50cc engine.

Moki210: 2.8lbs
DA50: 3.13lbs w/o ignition, extra battery, or muffler

If anyone is looking for some smaller electrics I've got a 55" 3DHS Katana and a 47" 3DHS Yak, both in outstanding condition, that I'll be bringing to the Huckfest as well. Looking to pick up a 30cc-50cc gasser if I can get them sold.

Can someone else pick up the baton and handle the "stuffing JR banners, towels, stickers on Gene's trailer and planes" tasks for me?

If I can acquire a very large JR decal, I will permanently affix it to Gene's trailer. I have a few small ones that will fit perfectly on his plane.
