Receiver/Servo power on giant scale

Hello,
I have noticed that most people are using Life batteries for receiver and servos in their giant scale airplanes. I have a couple of those but they are 6.6 volts each. I am running a Spektrum AR-8000 receiver with the Redwing RC yellow power board and Savox 1270 servos in my 91" Extreme flight Extra EXP and I want the servos to run on 7.4 volts. So I figured I would use 2 three cell 2200 mha lipos through my Fromeco Wolverine into the yellow power expander and adjust the voltage to the 7.4 volts for the servos. Does anyone see a problem with that setup?
Thanks

Why do that when you can run a 2S Lipo?

You could run 3S Lipos and regulators if you are REALLY concerned about the minor difference in voltage to the servos from flight to flight but personally I would simply run 2S Lipos and skip the regulators. Some guys insist they can tell the difference as the voltage decreases but I (and probably most) can't..

I was going to do that but the power board from Redwing cuts the power down to around 6.8 volts on two cell lipo and I am afraid that running straight through the receiver the servos will draw too much on the receiver bus.

Nope, there's plenty of folks flying that size plane off a receiver bus.

I have a 91" Extreme Flight Yak with a DA60 and a regular 9 channel receiver with dual batteries connected through heavy duty switches directly to the receiver. I also have full telemetry in the airplane and I don't have the slightest problem with voltage drops or anything of that sort. A power expander simply isn't needed in that size airplane.

What radio system? On the freestyle stuff I just run a 2s Lipo and its pretty good. On the precision stuff I still like a reg for the consistency of it.
