Here is a picture of my 60% soon-to-be air towing machine and my soon-to-be 50% KA6 glider(24.5 feet ws), looking for some serious fun within a month or so....

Hey Bill,

Missed you at the Nall this year. We were across the corner from you last year.

Anyway, there you go again... doing something that is creating this problem of drool all over my keyboard. What an awesome combination! This really should be an event at Joe Nall next year. I'll volunteer to help get the stuff out to the runway and do anything I can to help with setup.

Sounds good ALex I'll be getting back into my 40% pawnee next year with DLE 222 up front and will be starting my 40% wilga after that with Moki 400 for power.

Re: Aero-Towing - Favorite Tugs

Howdy sports fans well the painting is almost done and just because I couldn't wait any longer I put the model together today in full colour.

So just to make more work for myself and save some cash I have cut the engine box down and am half way through fitting my new DLE 222 flat 4.....it actually looks like it's made for a 40% model, more power than I need but I can always throttle back and it will allow the motor to fully bed in and allow me to iron out before it goes in my 40% pawnee.

Re: Aero-Towing - Favorite Tugs

Hi there pitviper51 the tryres I made. The tyres are kids crash matts, the kind you get for home playgrounds. They were cut out in laminations with a bandsaw with the hubs bolted either side and sanded to shape in a drill press. The hubs I had cnc cut to my specifications. The tail wheel yolk are castings from my own patterns and the leaf springs are 2x14mm flat steel joiner bars from Graupner.

cheers Rossco.
