26-27lb. and 2185 sq. I'm turning a 28x9 Falcon at 7100 on the ground with a DLE120 which puts out right at about 70lb. of thrust. I have a kit version at about 25.5lb. with a 100L and a Falcon 27x9W that puts out about 67lb. or thrust at 7000 on ground. For maximum enjoyment of the ARF I recommend a 111 / 120 up front but it would fly great with a 100L with 2:1 power to weight. |

Not familiar with the Falcon CF Gas Wide production yet, but a standard 27x9 will calculate to a static thrust of 67-69 pounds at 7000 RPMs, but pull about 56-58 pounds on a scale at sea level here in FL. Still well over the 2:1 thrust-to-weight, so there'll be no disappointment either way. Sounds really promising.

The wood ones however.......NEVER again They need to ditch the beechwood and do laminated instead. |

We tried the 24x10TH and the Falcon 24x10 side by side on a piped DA60 and the Falcon was 30g lighter and the hub was about 1/16 inch wider. They both spooled up about the same and performed about the same too, so I'm considering the Falcon over Mejzlik when buying a CF prop because of price and availability.
The beechwood props are good in electric, but heavier than the Xoar PJN. I do prefer the 21x10 E-1 Falcon over the same size PJN, and the 22x10 PJN over the Mejzlik 22x10E... same motor on the same voltage got 32 pounds from the 22x10 PJN and 27.5 pounds from the 22x10E Mejzlik. Get's a little expensive trying them all, but I think I'm safe doing Falcon CF on the bigger gas and staying with the PJN on electric. I hear the 27x11 Falcon is killer on the DA120. |

I just realized that you posted a video of the plane from Nall. The great thing about it is that I can compare Gabriel's 2013 Wenatchee Huckfest video with the Edge 540, probably the best plane out of PAU **so far** (IMO), with a fairly similar routine on the Vyper. You can see the cube loading difference right away at the bottom of the opening KE spin on both routines. I'll take the lower density any day. Nice job on the cowl, by the way. |

They put that cowl proto together amazingly fast. I have made a list of things to rine it on the production model. Going to be wicked cool!! Gabby told me that it flies a lot like the edge but also like a foamy. You can get all crazy but then punch the gas and it is immediately back to flying. Exactly what I have been trying to get from it all the while.

Wow, that would be something!!! Sorry to side track the thread but if there are any really big events in the FL / GA area this fall that would be worth the trip keep me posted. I can't make XFC this year because of family thing going on so we'd like to plan a trip this Fall. Oct. - Dec. sometime.
