Carbon fiber always scared me in airplanes for radio interferance, but great in some areas for strength.
For example longerons and spars are fantastic, but having a large sum of carbon fiber scattered around the inside of the fuse seems a bit sketchy, although I haven't seen any issues with it yet thankfully. I guess for me as long as it hucks hard and looks good I'm sold!

I agree, I can care less as long as the frame performs.
Starting building tonight, will probably start with the elevators.

Jase said the carbon is sandwiched into the structural parts such as the firewall and other areas.

We can't guarantee that. We honestly thought it would be constructed identically to the one we have. But by viewing the pics I see it's not the case. However with that being said, it looks as though it is constructed just like our red white and blue 104" MXS which has proved to be pretty much bullet proof!!

Do you think this is a screw up by the factory?

What about the spinner? Is it painted up like the pics on the site?

you would think from the additional price from the other schemes that this one would have the added carbon...

The ones on it in the pic are made from hardwood dowels and covered in white ultracote. I made them years ago for another airplane that didn't come out of a tree the same way it went in. They are 1" with 2 washers and it is just about perfect spacing. I have ordered the 1 1/8" SWB stand offs and they should be here in a few days. I got the 1 1/8" dimension from Jeff Williams earlier.

No spinner included. But watch the website, the new spinner line should be on there soon and they are as nice as this airframe.

So this airframe does not come with a spinner? The Demonstrator comes with the painted spinner, no? Was this a fact of the rush to get them on this boat? Same with the CF?
