I flew with my DX-18 today. Simply amazing! I wish it was spring. O well, I'll have all winter to figure out all the programming!

Ghoffman, you about to blow a gasket? Lol. I hope you see the humor in that!

Im Stepping up from the 9303 and I can feel the difference for sure (again).

has anyone figured out how to get rid of the shutdown screen that has the "register your radio at...." stuff? It seems like switching models, it stays on for almost 10 seconds. Not a biggie but if there is a way,,,,,,
you are right robbinsp,, it has an awesome feel!!

Yep, go to https://community.spektrumrc.com/ and register your radio, then download the latest update, install, and the message will go away.

Actually updating to any Airware, will get rid of that message. It is just telling you, that you need to register it, and update.

I have a question regarding telemetry. If you buy the telemetry rx, is that thing capable of anything as a standalone unit? Do u have to buy a sensor for every single thing you want to watch. What, if anything shows up on the radio? If anyone has tried it I wanna hear their input.

The TM1000 comes with a temperature sensor and a voltage sensor, along with both sensors activated or not you will get flight log data. Other than the two included sensors with the TM1000 you have to separately purchase others such as Air Speed, Altitude, RPM and many others.

yeah, it should just "know" these things

I did the update last night and now the powerdown is very fast. Not sure what the update did other than that, havent looked through the menu's yet.

+1 for an update to switch models without powering down though!!

Very easy to do on the DX18

From powered on, push the back and clear buttons, select different model than the one you want, confirm "YES", then scroll to model selection again, select desired model, click, confirm "YES" and done... two extra clicks.. takes less than a second.... not a real big deal really. That is for "no power down system menu access"

Otherwise for exactly what you typed, model selection has never required power down, just push the BACK and CLEAR buttons together, takes you into the screen for that desired operation.

oops I see we were both typing to Lappy.... lol
