After I get home tomorrow I'll work on the engine install.
Also don't forget in this thread, CSpaced will be pimpin' a DL-50 on a cannister. This is going to be quite the range of engines to compare on this airframe!

Ryan's was 18lb and John's was 17. Give or take an ounce or two.

I would expect mine to be about 17.4-17.8 since I'm using the 3W55, 2 batts and an optical kill.

I'm also going to fly about 2gallons or so and then add a smoke system from my P-47.

I'm using alot of the gear from my P-47 to work all the bugs out of things before it goes back in that plane.

A few ques, sorry! Is that tunnel long enough for a tuned pipe?.......How is the size of this thing compared to the EF Yak? I could not belive how huge those are!..................Do you get any vibration of the canopy-cowl the way that all mounts up without the ply former between the two?....................I am really worried about that huge cowl setup.......would pau stand behind it if the cowl started cracking due to the mounting design? Any Vid.....the plane looks trick! thanks 871

I'll try to answer those.

-The tunnel would most likely need to be cut but there is plenty of room for a tuned pipe

-Not sure as I have not seen the 2 together but I imagine they are close to the same size

-For the way the cowl mounts it should be fine. PAU has been excellent on Customer Service with the Edges so I think they would stand behind this plane in the same way. The DA50 barely vibrated the plane. The MT57 had a vibration at idle but as more flights were put on it the vibration got less.

- Not cutout in the back for a tail rudder servo. But you can reach back there quite easy with your hand all the way to the rudder post. If you wanted to put a servo back there you could probably mod it yourself.

Regarding the cowl. This is nothing new and many of our older planes used this method specifically our Yak with zero problems. While many of our new planes use a cowl ring we opted to not use it on this design. The full scale Sukhoi is a nut and bolt aircraft. We wanted a scale outline to the cowl and the reason why we used this proven method.

Hey thanks PNW. One more thing..... Does this plane fly faster and precise like an extra...or more floaty slow and stable at slow speed like some yaks?? Thanks 871

Like a Yak and an Extra. That open round cowl keeps the speed constant. PAU has been trying to make their planes Scale, Fly 3-D and Fly precision. So far from flying the Edges and this Su-26 I'd say they got the precision down! From watching others 3-D (because I suck at it) they are not lacking there either.

Of course you need to setup your plane for your style and that takes flights to accomplish. But the planes didn't exhibit any bad tendancies on the ones I flew

I also told Ken when I picked up my 50cc Su-26.............Put me on the list for the 150cc, if you do one. Right now they are not though.

Didn't get home till 7pm........The Navy has finally decided its time for me to fly in the Real EA-6B. They are moving my remaining hurdles (Egress training and Water Survival) up to this week. They tried to put me on the schedule Friday but I didn't have these. I will start working again on the Su-26 in the morning.......hope to finish it up tomorrow!

I love editing movies, spent an hour deleting "filler" flying and I still have to cram 18 minutes worth of good flying into a four minute video.
