What makes a perfect wing bag?

Hi, Guys,

I am kinda new to GS planes, but I have a 33% and a 42% getting ready for next years competition season, so I thought I would sew up some wing and tails storage and tote bags up myself for them this winter. I am not going to offer them for sale or anything, just for personal use.

So my question is this, In an ideal world, what makes a perfect wing bag? what features do I need to incorporate and what pitfalls do I need to avoid.

Cheers.

Never used a wing bag in my life personally but have heard that old sleeping bags offer good protection. Bubble wrap with silver backing (it's stronger than the normal type) is also popular as a cheap method with the edges reinforced with webbing.
From those I have seen , wing bags come with a small pocket sewn in to house the wing tube. The only think that comes to mind re precautions to take is making sure you insert the wings so the servos are facing outward, or they will rub up against the other wing and cause damage. I think that covers all my knowledge on these things.

Most wing bags are similar in that they protect the wings and store the wing tube. I think a nice addition would be a small outside pocket to hold whatever you keep the misc. hardware used on that plane in. Someplace to keep the screws, clips, etc. for that plane together with the wings.

Good idea. You could also make a pouch for storage of stab and tube .......rudder too, so it keeps all the parts protected and in one place.

Maybe you can add in every corner a strap to hang on the wall or in your trailer!!! and donīt forget a slot for the wing tube!!!

What makes a good wing bag?? Well an inside divider between the wing sections would be nice.

Ive had Air Wild wing bags for 10 years, and they are still holding up. Well made product.

Might add a spot on the side for extra props. I agree on hooks on the sides to hang up for storage.

Anyways...back on topic.

I made wing cradles out of PVC and foam that work just as well as bags. To each his own.
