Idea
Future
Getting older, and hopefully smarter kindda sucks.... starting to realize the ramifications of past decisions, while planning for the future.... I've been thinking that I should redirect my career path, sell a bunch of RC stuff, or at least consolidate it to a couple planes, and sell my house... I could stay where I'm at and have a nice life, but I'm not sure I would enjoy it....
fun times, Chris |

If the house is paid for keep it. If you feel you must move on , rent the house and buy another.

In this market AND if your current house is paid off, renting it out and using that cash flow to pay for your next home would be my biggest suggestion. You can buy homes for NOTHING, get good rent incomes, and if you play your cards right you might even have enough "free" income from that to reinvest into a new direction for you career path. Just my thoughts: house prices are only going to climb from here.
Take this with a grain of salt, I'm 21 and in college so I don't know much about spending/saving (or having, really) any money. |

I'm 48,and I say don't settle for just anything.A day will come when it's too late to make changes, like a new career.I look back on my life and there are things I wish I had done differently.I have made a decent living,I was able to see that my children had the things they needed, but I gave up on what I really wanted to do,or at least never pursued it rigorously.I now regret that. The kids are grown and on their own, they have kids, and I'm still working 60 hours a week, just getting by,with no end in sight.Retirement? Not till I die.

8 hours work,8 hours play, 8 hours sleep Keep your planes and enjoy them, you deserve to have a recreational hobby.

I dunno, I got a solid job, I bought the house a year ago... I've been able to put money into it... not a bad deal, I could probably pay it off within 5 years if I work hard on it... I've been thinking about switching back to a 85cc plane, a 50cc, and a 30cc... Don't know if the investment is worth it... I'm one class away from my associates degree, so I should probably start working toward my bachelors...

I used to dream of owning 30 rc planes ,, but after I come to my senses I scaled down from 12 to..
40% IMAC Extra 300 35% EF Yak(3d bird) Trex700n heli MSH Protos 500 heli and a fullscale Cessna 150(yeh sort of cost more than the RC's, but anyway),, I am much happier with alot less stuff for upkeep and maintanence. I got a plane or heli to do it all, and only have 4 rc's now total.(Do have a parkzone T28, but that sorta doesn't count) |
