GP123; 5640 rpm with Biela 26X12X3 Carbon Fiber, measured on the ground

Stock GP exhaust
approx 7.5 gallons of fuel thru engine and a little over 10 hours run time
708 feet ASL
Air temp 88F
93 octane pump gas with Redline Racing @ 40:1
Idle rpm set at 1300

Didn't retune the engine, still starting easily with good transition and power. Lost about 1000 rpm versus the Falcon two blade and did loose some top end speed. However the pull is excellent on an upline and the overall speed is much more consistent. This prop will be the primary choice for now since I tend to fly mostly IMAC with this plane.

Next step is to install the GP headers (nice quality by the way) and a set of KS cans.
Excellent - i just tried similar this weekend for our IMAC comp. Falcon 26x12x3
was using falcon 28x10 @ 6750 rpm now 26x12x3 is at 5800rpm. I found the same - pull is excellent, sound is great, and there is less work on the throttle. the 28x10 is so powerful it made more work, with the 3 blade i can effectively fly at higher throttle settings, less noise, and no extra speed at all, pulls through snaps on vertical uplines with ease!

stock exhuast
40:1 putoline MX5
engines has done around 120 flights x 12 min approx so 24 hrs total run time
20 deg C
3300ft asl
yak55m

i plan to add the GP headers and hype pipes, but when i get time....................

Just received a Gp61 in the mail that I bought from someone on here just had all the updates fresh. I will be putting it on a Pilot Yak 54. Look forward to trying these motors. If they are like what I have read it should be a blast. Nothing more I hate than having to fiddle with my plane at the field. This thing should sling that yak around like crazy. Also are you guys using a solid mount or stand offs for the 61?

Stand-offs Works great and more room to get to the arms

Awesome. Gonna be a few weeks before I get to try it out. I have a stock and a jtec pitts muffler for it. Trying to decide which to use. Gonna run a falcon 24x9. Hope it runs well and lasts

Joe is the man when it comes to GP's. Don't know what I would have done with out him. He is a really nice guy as well.

Hi guys I just picked up a used GP 61cc and plan to put it in an Aeroworks 50cc Pitts Python but have concerns about db requirements at local clubs. Has anyone tried the Jtec large pitts muffler with this engine and can speak of its effectiveness?
Any three blade prop suggestions?

I am also getting very good performance using a Mej 27x12x3 TH, flying IMAC sequences (Sportsman level). See my previous posting #6920.
