New guy

I just got a used pattern plane that was probably pretty good in it's day... I have some questions about the YS 140 and how to plumb it, can you help? It has a tank with three inlets, a section of fuel tubing that comes outside the fuse and is connected with two 90 degree elbows and a single 90 elbow on the other side. What kind of servos would be adequate? It is a CA Genesis that is in pretty good shape, will it get me into pattern?

Here is a link that describes the plumbing of the YS pressuried engines. http://www.geistware.com/rcmodeling/...er/ys_main.htm I assume you don't have a 1.40 DZ and have a 1.40 Sport or similar engine. If you have the DZ, these are different in that they are not a pressurized system and inject fuel right above the intake valve.

The genesis will certainly get you started in pattern. Are you starting off in Sportsman? Whatever servos you decide to use, get digitals. Even the cheap ones are better than most of the analog ones.

For Futaba low end I would use: S3152 for Elevator/Ailerons/Rudder and an S9650 for Throttle
Futaba upper end: S9151 or S9252 for Elevator/Ailerons/Rudder and again an S9650 for Throttle
JR: Upper end DS8411 for Elevator/Rudder, DS9411(SA if you can get them) for Ailerons, and a DS821 for Throttle.

Here are a couple of good links for setting up your servos and linkages:

Follow the info in those and you can't go wrong.

You are in NSRCA district 3. Here is that district's contest page: https://sites.google.com/site/nsrcad3/home/calendar
and Gary Courtney is your district VP: http://nsrca.us/index.php?option=com...172&Itemid=174

He should be able to get you hooked up in the pattern community over there.
