I need to preface this first: Chris is a stand-up guy and is a lot of fun. He takes a lot abuse at the hands of many and always has a smile and a good attitude about it, much like myself.

We were on the gun range last year shooting skeet, with a light skeet load as it should be. Not everyone brought their guns as this is a fly-in after all. There was 4 or 5 guys just shooting in rotation and Chris starts at the first station saying "can I shoot your gun?" Everyone tells him no (I suppose they thought they were going to be showed up) except when he gets down to me. I say sure thing!

The gun holds 3 shells, so I put one in the chamber, then loaded a 3.5" high brass "magnum" turkey load, then another skeet load. He shoots the first 2 birds no problem, but when he pulls the trigger on that last load he literally takes 2 steps back and almost goes over the railing. He drops the gun, looks at me and goes "that thing misfired!!" I saw Chason shoot apple pie out of his nose - seriously.

For the rest of the night Chris is asking "can I shoot your gun, can I shoot your gun? It don't kick bad does it?" I think he asked Hoyt about 35 or 40 times and Hoyt finally turned to him and said very calmly "I swear to god I'm going to break your ******* nose with the butt of this gun."

That's brotherly love if I've ever seen it.

Mind you I started drinking Apple Pie at 3pm, which then led into Chason's wife shoving Red Bull and Jaeger down my throat. Never again will she do that to me.
