Dle55ra down tube and mounting cowl help

Any suggestion on using the stock muffler and Teflon down tubes? The problem is that you can't get cowl on. I have motor on 29% sbach from chief. Has anyone solved this problem yet?

Leave the tubes off until you mount the cowl. That's how I do it on my little EF Extra with an RA motor.

Do you still need to put the clamps on the tubes?

Only without the tubes. But yes use the clamps. You can install them pretty easily with some needle nose pliers.

On the pilot sbach, the 55 fits nicely in the cowl with out having to do any cutting.

Mine is the 35 on a 70" EF. Works great. Cut your exhaust exit holes just big enough to slide the clamps in with some pliers. It will look great.
