I think the Durant Direct Drive is a very good way to go for sure. I just have not ever done that before and need to take the time to build something with that setup. Bob |

Bob, You are amazing! I can't believe the incredible work and how willing you are to share all your information and knowledge. If I haven't said it lately THANK YOU! You do realize what you doing will change the hobby forever! Thanks for the response on the servos. On your 55% if you did use Seiko's would you do one in each elevator (or still the 2 8711's) half and 2 in each wing panel? |

Re: Ultra Light 55% Extra 260
If I were to use all seiko's on the 55, I would only use 1 per aileron, 1 for both elevators, and 1 on the rudder. I would also run a 12 volt system, I would shell all the servo cases and install all NACA ducts on the upstream side with flow through ventilation on the downstream side for cooling. The elevators would be locked together on a sliding key arrangement so the stabs could be removed.
In my mind, sharing information is the right thing to do, we already share a common interest, so why not help each other all we can... Bob |

Re: Ultra Light 55% Extra 260
Last night I filled my trenches, and cowl ring areas, and tonight I came along ways on the finish work. Tomorrow night I will finish the touch up work and if all goes well, I will be able to high build prime fill on Thursday evening and start spline sanding this thing.
