My models outgrew my "hobby room", had to annex some of the garage. My wife has the rest of the house, the garage is mine.

It's worth it. Did my shop floor 20 yrs ago when you could still get solvent based epoxy in delusional CA. Concrete prep is the key- it must be done thoroughly. Use an industrial solvent based product. Much better than water base. It's a chemical cure so odor for only a short time. No waiting for solvent evaporation like oil based paints.
Plan on twice the time you think. After cleaning and etching, the first coat sucks in and looks like you won't have enough coating but, the second coat flows out very nice. You'll love the look.
