Looks like both were severely underpowered.

Yeah not really sure what happened to the Pitts other than a really bad landing... I think it's funny they just leave the dead airplanes laying where they crash

Looking at the videos again - why does the Pitts look like it was crashed again? Either that or it got chopped up at the tail and had the wings removed. Video of it looked like all it broke was the gear and prop.

some of you havent got a clue what your talking about. lack of power, lack of piloting skill.
60% EXTRA 260 - STEVE CARR - WINGS & WHEELS 2012 (16 min 46 sec)

steve carrs plane has flown many times before without incident this was just his time for it to expire.
and large plane crashes are retrieved when they can be without stopping the schedule at shows, not like they are going anywhere after making safe so they are taken apart when time allows and no danger is present to the owner from other models in the air.

The 60% Extra 260 ARf is the one that i sell. Steve Carr is an awesome 3D pilot and has been flying this model for several years. I am not sure why everyone is saying that there is 8 servos on the rudder, I only see 1 on each side of the fuselage. This is a larger Seiko type per side so setting up only (2) rudder servos should be easy. The rudder failure in the deflected position is what caused this crash. The motor Steve is using is a 3W-546cc FUEL INJECTED 4 cylinder, it is AWESOME! Hopefully, Steve will come on here and give us all the facts.

Looks like a good pilot and the plane has plenty of power. Full rudder lock is hard to recover from.

Hi Steve! Sorry for the loss of what looked like a magnificent aircraft. Please take some of the comments posted here with a grain of salt (as we say in the US)......sometimes, speculation is all these keyboard pilots have......

Were you able to determine the cause of the rudder lock up?

Hopefully you already have a new monster in the works!

Don't really enjoy seeing one of Bill's babies crash. I still want one of his big Cubs. Its just not easy talking the wife into it.

I hear ya...that's the biggest obstacle to overcome. It's harder to deal with the wife than to come up with the money

Not in my case, but sometimes the wife is the reason you can afford them.
