Yea, maintenance on the moki scared me away and I got a great deal on the 170.

She'll have KS front dump cans and smoke...

Going to have to build a craddle for assembly and transport..

Progress made:
Motor and headers in
Headers tapped for smoke
Tanks ready
Pull Puill done
Rudded and tail wheel mounted
Stand made for transport, will need legs for assembly.

I had to make a floor for the tanks, trying to get them back toward the CG, and still get the wing bolts in.

I addtionally added a third canopy bolt on each side, there was about 24" between the two so I split the differance with a third.

Not much more before rigging and those funky wheel pants...

Getting closer Pilot and panel done, about 90% done with airframe, time to see how the balance is for placement of the batteries.

Looks like they will all be up front, only missing the rigging and wheel pants. The wheel pants will add a little to the forward but not much.

Riggin might be tuff some of the blind nuts in the wings are gone and or out of alignment with the holes in the wing.

Graphics from BandE on the way....

Looks good!! We did get our struts in from China, and will be adding them soon. If you wish to order Robart Oleo's you MUST order from them.

I did put her on the scales last night as I was getting worried after taking her off the bench. Its currently at 49 lbs with the batteries and without the rigging and wheel pants so it should be right at the 50-51 finished.

Pretty happy with that the 170 might have just enough to hover it.....lol

there was one of these at our club last weekend nice looking model but the owner had a dead stick on one of his flights, all i can say is if you get a ds get yours down with as much air speed as possible. the drag from those wheels really pulled the nose down on his and slowed it from 80mph to 30 in seconds, it was like watching it fly in treacle once he lost power. took him a while to get the nose back up to level before touchdown. luckily he was flying quite high up. would have lost it if he was lower
