I had to shorten mine (just made it short enough to clear the elevators at all deflection combinations of the rudder and elevators) and I too used a 3" offset arm with the h9 control horns and straight (not crossed) lines.

I put mine in as far in as it would go. Then just made sure the rudder horns didnt hit the elevator using the end point adjustment.

Re: Bill Hempel 100cc Yak-55M?????

thanks guys, i think i have it so it doesnt hit the elevator. whats the reasoning for a crossed or uncrossed pull-pull rudder wires?
Im just waiting for a control horn to come in, bought the lhs out of there stock and they didnt have enough. that and my rx and an ignition switch from Emcotec. I am still concerned about my tail being heavy but we will wait and see where it ends up..

Lebowski,
The reason you cross the wires is to keep it from contacting the edges of the holes. It just depends on the size of the rudder horn and the width of the fuse where the wire will exit.

Re: Bill Hempel 100cc Yak-55M?????

honestly wish i could get my DA 50 runnin right.I sent it into service and they replaced the crankshaft bearings only. they sent it back with the service report saying they test ran it up to something like 6800 rpm. now i got it on the airframe and i cant get it anywhere past 4500 rpm. WTF? need to hire a personal engine tuner, would be great if she cooked and cleaned as well......

Are you sure the ignition isn't plugged in backwards? Where the sensor plugs into the ignition box, it will run if you have it backwards but will not rev past about 4500.
