I am also happy to see that you have some experience on FG 60 R3 engine.
I am building a ZERO A6M3 91" that will weight arround 9kg (so 19 lbs ?) without engine, so near 11.5 kg to 12 kg (25 lbs to 26 lbs ?) with engine 4 strokes as I would like (2 strokes are too much noise and less realistic )
My questions

Do you think Saito FG 60 R3 will be enough considering power for my plane , for realistic warbird flight (not a racer and 3D )

I looked by comparaison to FG 57 flat cylinders, I do not really understand why RF 60 R3 have less power ( 7 kg static thrust given by Saito) than FG 57 ( 9 to 11 kg static thrust) with a litle more cc with same rpm and near prop...
On the paper, FG 57 seems to be more adapted to my project, but I have a doubt on static thrust given by Saito for Fg 60 R3 regarding FG 57 where I found a video on youtube of a guy who measured the real static thrust of RF 57 at 11 kg static thrust ( I found nothing else and not many experinces for FG 60 R3 on planes with comparable weight)

For information, I have max 220 mm inner diameter of cowl engine , that's why FG 84 can not be a solution , too large (250 mm)

Thank you a lot in advance for your adices and help
(sorry for faults, I am french, nobody's perfect )

Arnaud
Best regards
I can not understand why Saito quoted 7kg static thrust. The AUW of my Reactor is 16 to 17lbs. The 60R3 can hover it at less than WOT - 16.5lbs = 7.5kg. At WOT, it would be over 8kg (17.6lbs) conservatively speaking since we are not considering aerodynamic drag.

I do have a fish scale. The next time out I'll measure static thrust by hooking it up to my tail wheel.

Thank you, it will be nice , with your information I will not make a mistake buying it for my Zero.
Else, what is the meaning of WOT exactly ?

Hi, just a question from Spain, can work properly that engine with Nº1 cylinder downwards? maybe in this position fit better in P47 Thunderlbolt cowl...

Good Day! I ordered my FG60R3 from Horizon. I just have one question...What kind of spark plugs does these motor uses? is it the common CM-6 or the smaller 1/4 32 that the fg33r3 uses. I want to get some spares for future use but I dont know what size to buy. it says from the specs it uses SP-2, i don't know what size of plug is that.. thanks a lot in advance and Merry Christmas!

Thank you very much marksp! I'm in Abu Dhabi and those plugs are not available here so might as well order them there. Good day!
