Competition Airframes Velox Rev II Build Thread

Ok guys here we go! This is a detailed build of our next offering. A Velox Revolution II. I have always liked this plane and now we are ready to get it going. I'm not going to do a detailed build like the ones in the past, but I want you to notice how many items during the build that show what we have incorporated just like our other kits.

Specifications:

Wing Span 125”
Length 120.5”
Motor 170cc-200cc+
AAA Hand select Balsa
Full Size Cad Drawings
Two Piece Fiberglass Cowl Primered in the mold
Wheel pants Primered in the mold
Pre Bent Landing gear
Fiberglass gear cuff (Extra’s only)
Foam Parts Fuse, wing and tail section
Instruction manual with pictures

New items for kits:

Template for mounting cowls. Makes alignment simple.
Servo/hard point template
DA 200 cowl baffling available for all kits
Three position/trays for mounting Battery’s and Regulators (No more trying to make something work). This is great for all motor configurations and individual setups. More forward for IMAC and move battery’s back for 3D in minutes.
DA200 motor boxes available
Laser cut pipe mounts for all popular canisters and pipes (Sold separate)
Instrument panels for all planes (Sold separate)
Limited hardware kit
Pre-Sheeted surface option for all planes.

We have tried to think of every possible item during a build to make it a great building experience. As we go along please, give me feedback.

Sweet! The extra details you put in your kits are really cool and helpful for the builder. These things are going to sell like crazy once the word starts to get around! I am hoping to build one of your kits next year if I can decide which one...

Rob

I saw in another thread on your sheeting options. I must say your prices are very reasonable in comparison. Looking forward to seeing this build. Also that table of DA200's should be in my shop!

Thanks for the nice words guys. A 200 in this plane would be a rocket ship. I'm trying to make these kits as easy as possible for anyone to build. I know I'm the new kid on the block but I won't be a one hit wonder. More kits to come after this one. We still have the 55M to finish and maybe another round fuse plane after that. Thanks

I've got a feeling I'll be getting lots of practice building big planes over the next few Winters. When is your new website supposed to be up? Still says coming soon....

The 55m is still in R and D stage right now. There's a reason no one else has a 55m in kit form, it takes alot of work to get all those round fuse pieces to go together. Plus we are trying to make this plane without a socket wing fuse. I'll let you know when we start the thread.

I sent the pics to Mike badger yesterday. He should be wrapping it up in the next couple of days.

You can send me a kit for some R&D

I like your idea to make it without the sockets.
