Yes, pipes and cans will make any airplane tailheavy. I have built two 100cc edges with DA 120'sand the 120cc freestyle, with a DA 120, none of them were tailheavy.

Have build a few AW aerobatics over the years and none of them are tail heavy, in matter, one needed a bit of tail weight to fly neutral......Double check your setup, the cg reco on most of their planes are spot on.
