Vibration

Hi...

I just set up a new plane with your Power system sport in a 50cc plane. I'm using a JR R921 Rx and I also mounted it to the plastic "L" shaped mounting bracket.

When running the plane, the Rx vibrates back and fourth like crazy...probably a go 1" in both directions.

I'm not used to this since I usually wrap my Rx's in foam in large planes.

Is this vibrating going to be an issue?

I don't want to loose a new plane due to a simple fix if the vibrating is going to cause damage to te Rx.

Thanks,

Chris

Re: Vibration

Do you have your wings on & possibly a balanced prop & hub ? Just a starting point, then I would make a floating tray of some sort for your RX, possibly a piece of foam under a plate your rx could sit on instead of wrapping it with foam.
Thanks, John

Wings are on, prop balanced. The power system is mounted to a tuned pipe tunnel with rubber grommets under it. The Rx bracket it mounted with the 3M heavy duty material that SF provided and I also used contact cement so it wouldn't come loose.

The worst of the vibration is when I'm bringing the throttle up, and then it isn't too bad.

Re: Vibration

post a pic of your instalation. might help. i have a dle55 and there is some vibration but not like what you describe. also does the entire plane shake pretty good? it might be just your low end is still a little rich, a proper tune will usually help smooth out the motor.

The low end has one point that is very slightly rich but the rest of the engine is fine.

I think I'm just being a little paranoid about the whole thing honestly...

The rx is held on with velcro and it also has two velcro straps that I didn't have on yet when I took those pictures.

Re: Vibration

if the motor runs good and it is tuned right and the motor is runs smooth the vibration might just be because that bracket is just absorbing the vibrations and just making it look worse that what it is.

I would personally get rid of the "L" bracket and mount the RX right to the PE.
