John indicated earlier in the thread that JR is finishing up work on the new DMSS Powersafe receivers.

Really? who cares...... buy it, fly it...... you do not need the next thing out, to be "on top". DMSX isnt going anywhere anytime soon. Sometimes people focus so much on what they dont have, and lose sight of what they just bought, before they really use it.

I'm with you there.
I would like to get either the DX18 or the XG11 for my 100cc. I like having the servo balancer function for the dual wing servo.
I Have JR 9503 and love it so much. it is so easy to program but now I'm confused about XG.
is XG a better technology ?
how come they dont need the remote receivers anymore?
xg now is not compatible with BNF.

I would like to get the XG but if i do then my JR 9503 will be useless. I dont like to have two different transmitters that are not compatible. but again I would rather have a JR over a spektrum.

The way I see it, buy whats out now, not what they are still working on.

As far as remote Rx's My guess is they went to longer antennae on the primary Rx, (like the other guys) to get the same coverage as the remotes were helping with. But thats my guess.

Nothing has said the XG is better, that I know of. I really have not noticed a lot of offerings with the new DMSS, and doubt we will. I kind of think of it as the old Ham band radios vs the 72Mhz......... it was just a different protocol... not necessarily better, but better because less were flying on it......... if you can see where I am coming from there?

This makes no sense at all. Why would you go and sell your current stuff to buy another brand for another different transmitting protocol when you are already complaining about your current protocol (that is still current and will not likely go away in a long time) and how JR decided to use their own system. That is like me getting rid of my 09 Edge because Ford came out with a new body style. Mine still tows everything i need, still gets 28 MPG, A/C is still cold, heater is still warm, leather and swade interior is still new and clean. But hey now it's junk because there is a new body style

Its not only about changing protocol. I really like the new functions of the dual wing servo balancers and I would like to get the XG11 for that over the DX18.
does anyone know if the X11( DSMX) is going to be updated to have the same programing functions as the XG11 ?

thanks

JR didn’t completely do away with the remote receiver. If you take a look at the XG11 manual you will see that it has a remote unit that both transmits and receives.

My understanding there will be an update coming to the 11X. But have to wait and see.

The last 11x update has the dual servo balance function?

I updated my dsx11 this summer just to get this function, and run dual aileron servos on my 104" extra with the servos balanced from the radio now..

That should have been a standard programming feature. I had 2 of the orginal dsm2 11X's and they both had that. I later updated the programming for the trainer box funtions but they always had a set up for 4 aileron servo's with the balance feature.

My XG11 is on the way. Should be delivered tomorrow. I'm looking forward to using it. This will be my first JR radio. I'm coming over from Spektrum.
