Re: 2 Cylinder vs 4 Cylinder
4 cylinder is extremely smooth, next to zero vibration.
Throttle response is instant. Sounds cool. They are heavy. They damage the Credit card severely. They can be super expensive if you want four tuned pipes on them. 2 cylinder is light Cheaper Vibration is there but not airframe destroying if mounted properly Size for size a 2 cylinder is more powerful Has a slower throttle response. Never seen a trick a twin cannot do. However if your talking about 300cc sized engines and up the four cylinder is the only way to go. Big Big twins and balsa airframes dont hack it very well. Kiwi |

Re: 2 Cylinder vs 4 Cylinder
Twins... Lighter motor, less pipes, cans, carbs... etc. I agree with what Father Kiwi says...for sure. More mass rotating. More rings and pistons to drag on cylinders. I think 2 is best for now....... I also think that 2 carbs on these 4 cylinder 2 strokes is a big fat waste of time. Put a big Tillitson or Mikuni on a single dual plane and go with it.....................
